It may sound boring, but I was pretty amazed at the massive growth in US consumers using online banking to make bill payments.
The numbers, published by Comscore yesterday, show 64% of Americans made use of online bill payments in 2010, a rise of 19% from 2009.
These days one only expects massive adoption spikes like this from hip young start-ups, or flavour-of-the-month social networks.
This can surely be taken as a sign of increased confidence in online security measures, and should bode well for a steady rise in online spending.
